Interventional Pain / Medical Director

Shaun Gabriel

Dr. Gabriel is a double board-certified, fellowship trained interventional pain physician, as well as the Medical Director. He completed his BA in Medical Ethics and Anthropology at the University of Chicago, where he was the recipient of multiple prestigious awards, while also graduating among the top of his class with both General and Special Honors. He attended medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his outstanding patient care. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with multiple honors, and went on to complete his fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine with the Department of Anesthesiology.As a physiatrist and interventional pain physician, Dr. Gabriel’s goal is to alleviate pain and restore function for patients through non-surgical approaches. He has over 10 years of extensive experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders, as well as a wide array of musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. He has been named a top-rated pain specialist among peers and patients, has presented numerous times at national meetings, and is published in peer-reviewed pain medicine journals. Dr. Gabriel’s clinical interests are broad, and include intervertebral disc disease, facet neurotomy, failed back surgery syndrome, spinal cord stimulation and regenerative medicine. In his personal time, Dr. Gabriel enjoys spending time with his family, serving in his church, traveling, running, playing music, painting, hiking and snowboarding.

Dr. Gray is a double board-certified, fellowship trained interventional pain physician. He completed his BS in Bioengineering at The University of Toledo College of Engineering, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He attended medical school at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and was awarded Excellence in Rehabilitation Medicine by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). He completed his residency in PM&R at The Ohio State University Medical Center and went on to complete his fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine with the Department of Anesthesiology.As a physiatrist and interventional pain physician, Dr. Gray’s goal is to improve function and quality of life for his patients. He has years of experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders, as well as a wide array of musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. Anesthesiology at Emory University, Interventional Pain Medicine residency.Dr. Tinkey is a board-certified, fellowship trained interventional pain physician. She completed her BS in Biology and English at Texas A&M University where she graduated Cum Laude. She attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Emory University and went on to complete her fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine with the Department of Anesthesiology at Emory University. She has been involved in numerous research endeavors and has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. As an anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician, Dr. Tinkey strives to alleviate pain with minimally-invasive procedures that can restore quality of life to her patients. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Colorado while in high school. She attended the University of Colorado School of Nursing and married her high school sweetheart, Steve Patton. After attending graduate school with her husband in Oklahoma, Dr. Patton pursued her dream of medicine. She completed a M.S. in Physiology at Oklahoma State and then attended the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine.Dr. Patton did a one year internship in Pediatrics at the University of Kansas, Wichita. She then took a few years off from the full-time practice of medicine to raise her children (Michael, Marie, Keith, Michelle) while they were little. She then resumed her medical career and completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Colorado (Rose Medical Center).Dr. Patton has worked for several clinics in the Denver Metro area and is employed by Miramont Family Medicine in Parker. She enjoys preventative health, women’s medicine, sports medicine and pediatrics. Katie McGovern is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Katie is a Colorado native and was raised in the Western Slope in Grand Junction. She graduated from Denver University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. She then worked as a phlebotomist before attending Regis University’s accelerated nursing program to earn her nursing degree. She spent 6 years working as a Registered Nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, where she spent most of her time on the medical floor. She then returned to Regis University to complete her M.S. in nursing and became a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Skiing since she was 2 years old and a former ski racer in high school, Katie enjoys alpine skiing with her loved ones in the Rockies. Melinda Kimmel

Mindy is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended West Texas A&M University where she graduated with honors, obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She then worked at the bedside in the medical and cardiac intensive care units where she learned that many patients had co-morbidities that were not properly managed and complications that could be prevented through access to medical care, education, nutrition, and exercise. This realization encouraged her to go back to school, where she once again attended West Texas A&M University, obtaining her Masters in Nursing. She feels incredibly privileged to do what she does: patient care and education. On the side, she helps teach ultrasound guided joint injection courses with Injection University and nursing courses at Front Range Community College. She is involved within both her local and nursing communities, currently serving as the Colorado Society of Advanced Practice Nurses (SIG 30) President – Elect. Being raised on a large ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska instilled a great love of the outdoors. Jonathan Edelman is board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He completed his BFA at Emerson College in Boston and a M.A. in music education at the Eastman School of Music prior to obtaining his B.S.N. at the University of Rochester. He spent 8 years working as a NICU nurse at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, New South Wales, and at Strong Memorial Hospital in NY, with a focus on children and families suffering from Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. He completed his FNP at the University of Rochester before moving to Colorado. In his free time he enjoys playing music, BJJ, gardening, and tending to the various children and animals within and around his house. He lives in Parker with his wife and three boys.

University of Texas – Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Walden University – Master’s of Science in Nursing. Alysha is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a Colorado native. She was born in Salida, Colorado and grew up in Colorado Springs. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly in their homes as a teenager which sparked her love for health, medicine, and caring for others. She naturally went on to become a Registered Nurse, following in the steps of her grandmother and great grandmother who were also nurses. Alysha worked as a Registered Nurse for nine years at University of Colorado Health, Memorial hospital in medical-surgical, orthopedics, and acute care while attending graduate school. In her free time, she loves staying active and has a passion for fitness. She also enjoys spending time with her family and 2 dogs in the beautiful outdoors of Colorado.

Lisa Baxter

Lisa Baxter is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Lisa then worked at the bedside with oncology patients before switching to the neuro-trauma intensive care unit. After realizing the multitude of emotional and physical issues post-traumatic injury patients develop, Lisa decided to advance her education to enable her toprovide a more comprehensive level of care to her patients.She attended Simmons University where she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing. Lisa enjoys working in pain management and the sense of fulfillment it brings being able to help patients restore their quality of life and functional abilities. When she is not working, Lisa enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her husband, two daughters, her dogs Cooper and Lucy, and her cat, Clyde.
